Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the EduStream student information system (the “Service”), a product owned and operated by Yggranet Technologies(“Yggranet,” “we,” “us”). They apply to the educational institution that subscribes to the Service (“Institution,” “you”) and, where indicated, to the admins, teachers, students, and parents who access the Service under an Institution’s account (“End Users”). By registering an Institution, accessing the Service, or using the Self-Service QR Fee Payment feature as a payer, you agree to these Terms. Acceptance given electronically is valid and binding under the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006.
2. About Yggranet Technologies
EduStream is provided under the registered business name Yggranet Technologies, a sole proprietorship registered in Sri Lanka. As a sole proprietorship, the registered owner is personally responsible for the obligations of the business under these Terms. These Terms are product-specific terms for EduStream and take precedence over Yggranet Technologies’ general Terms of Service for any matter specific to this platform, and otherwise supplement them.
3. Description of the Service
EduStream is a student information system covering enrollment and student records, attendance (manual entry or RFID/NFC card), fee management and invoicing, exam and grade management, notices and SMS notifications, role-based staff permissions, and a Self-Service QR Fee Payment feature. It is offered as a multi-tenant Cloud subscription (Free, Basic, Pro, or Enterprise plans) or as a Dedicated, single-institution deployment on custom terms.
4. Institution Accounts & Responsibilities
- The Institution must be a lawfully operating educational institution with authority to bind itself to these Terms.
- The Institution is responsible for the accuracy of all data it enters (student, parent, teacher, and staff records) and for obtaining any consent required from students, parents, and staff under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, before entering their data into the Service.
- The Institution is responsible for its End Users’ accounts, credentials, permissions, and conduct on the platform, and for promptly revoking access for staff who leave.
- The Institution owns the data it enters into the Service (“Institution Data”); we process it as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Subscription Fees & Billing (Cloud Plans)
- Cloud subscription fees are payable directly to Yggranet Technologies, not to any third party, by direct bank transfer or via our payment gateway (Dialog Finance’s Genie Business Connect), using Yggranet Technologies’ own merchant account.
- Subscriptions are billed manually per billing cycle (monthly or yearly) rather than through automatic recurring charges: we issue an invoice or renewal QR ahead of each period, and the Institution pays it before the stated due date.
- A 7-day grace period applies after the due date. If payment is not received by the end of the grace period, Cloud access is suspended until the outstanding balance is paid in full. Suspension does not delete the Institution’s data.
- Fees are exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) and any other applicable taxes under Sri Lankan law unless stated as tax-inclusive.
- Dedicated deployments are billed on custom terms agreed separately with the Institution.
Refunds, cancellations, and related terms are addressed in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. SMS Credits & RFID Card Orders
SMS notification credits and physical RFID attendance cards may be purchased as add-ons, payable directly to Yggranet Technologies through the same payment methods described in Section 5. RFID card orders require a shipping address and contact phone number and are fulfilled and shipped after payment is confirmed; delivery timelines are estimates and we are not liable for courier delays outside our control.
7. Self-Service QR Fee Payment Feature
This section sets out the standard terms that apply, uniformly and without variation, to every Institution that enables the Self-Service QR Fee Payment feature and to every student or parent (“Payer”) who uses it to pay school fees.
- EduStream is a technology facilitator only. Each participating Institution registers and maintains its own, independent merchant account with our payment gateway partner, Dialog Finance’s Genie Business Connect (“Dialog Pay Business”), separate from Yggranet Technologies’ own merchant account. The Service uses that Institution’s credentials solely to generate a dynamic, LankaQR-compatible QR code and to retrieve payment-confirmation status.
- Funds are settled directly, and exclusively, into the Institution’s own bank account through the payment gateway. Yggranet Technologies/EduStream is never a party to the payment, never receives, holds, or has custody of the funds at any point, and is not a payment service provider, payment facilitator, acquirer, or financial institution in relation to any transaction made through this feature.
- The Institution is solely responsible for: (a) registering and maintaining its own valid merchant account and complying with the payment gateway provider’s own merchant terms; (b) the accuracy of the fee amounts presented for payment; (c) issuing receipts or invoices to its students and parents as required by law; (d) complying with all applicable Sri Lankan law in connection with collecting its own fees, including the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, No. 28 of 2005, to the extent applicable to its own merchant acceptance activity, and any tax obligations; and (e) resolving any duplicate charge, incorrect amount, or refund request raised by a Payer, directly with that Payer and, where relevant, with the payment gateway provider and the Payer’s own bank.
- For Payers: by using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that (i) your payment is made directly to the Institution, not to Yggranet Technologies or EduStream; (ii) Yggranet Technologies/EduStream is not responsible for the payment, its processing, or its settlement, and bears no liability in relation to it; (iii) any dispute, refund request, or query about a fee payment must be raised directly with the Institution; and (iv) EduStream’s role is limited to displaying the payment QR code and reflecting the confirmed payment status on the Institution’s own records.
- Availability of this feature depends on the Institution’s account remaining in good standing under Section 5 and on the continued availability of the underlying payment gateway, which is outside our control.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to, and not to permit any End User to:
- Access or attempt to access the Service without authorization, or interfere with its security, consistent with the Computer Crimes Act, No. 24 of 2007.
- Use the Service to send unlawful, harassing, or misleading notices or SMS messages.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law.
- Use the Service in a way that infringes the rights of students, parents, staff, or third parties.
9. Intellectual Property
- Yggranet Technologies owns all right, title, and interest in the EduStream platform and software, including its underlying code, design, and know-how, protected under the Intellectual Property Act, No. 36 of 2003.
- We grant the Institution a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service during the subscription term, for its own internal educational administration purposes.
- The Institution retains ownership of its own Institution Data. On termination, the Institution may export its data within a reasonable period as described in our Privacy Policy, after which it may be deleted.
10. Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep confidential any non-public business, technical, or student/staff information disclosed by the other party, and to use it only for purposes of the Service, except where disclosure is required by law.
11. Third-Party Services & Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party providers, including Dialog Finance’s Genie Business Connect payment gateway and SMS delivery providers (such as Text.lk and Dialog’s SMS gateway). Use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, changes, or acts and omissions.
12. Warranties & Disclaimers
We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care. Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant the uptime or availability of third-party payment gateways or SMS providers. Nothing in this Section excludes any guarantee or warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees actually paid to Yggranet Technologies (i.e., Cloud subscription, SMS credit, and RFID order fees) in the six months preceding the claim. Because Yggranet Technologies never receives any funds paid through the Self-Service QR Fee Payment feature (Section 7), our liability in connection with that feature is limited to correcting reconciliation or display errors on our own records caused by our fault, and does not extend to the underlying payment, its settlement, or any amount paid by a Payer to an Institution. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of Sri Lanka, including the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003.
14. Termination & Suspension
Either party may terminate a subscription with written notice. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment (subject to Section 5’s grace period), material breach of these Terms, or unlawful use. On termination, the Institution may export its Institution Data within a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
15. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform obligations under these Terms caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government action, or power, internet, or third-party payment gateway failures.
16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally and in good faith. Failing informal resolution, disputes will be submitted to arbitration under the Arbitration Act, No. 11 of 1995, or, where arbitration is not agreed, to the courts of Sri Lanka having jurisdiction over the matter.
17. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable under Sri Lankan law, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Together with any order or plan confirmation, these Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties for the Service.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to Institutions in advance where reasonably possible.
